Anvil

Anvil was initially developed by the Location Innovation Lab (LIL) in 2018 specifically for our UO’s Facilities Management and Work Control teams. The app was created to provide trades workers and technicians with a mobile tool to receive and manage their work orders, log time and costs, and alert other team members that their phase of the job was complete.

Working in sync with our Call Log application, ANVIL was developed to integrate directly with our UO Spaces application and the campus’s AiM (by Asset Works) implementation for work and asset management.

Next LIL integrated a module for inventorying individual ‘assets’, such as AED’s (defibrillators), -80 freezers critical for research labs, and HVAC equipment. Another module was developed to perform routine inspections on the assets as well as campus-wide full building inspections, such as annual fire inspection.

Later modules aid the UO police department in performing security inspections and help UO shipping and receiving to scan and upload packing lists immediately upon arrival. The passenger vans of the UO Duck Rides program use ANVIL to pick up and drop off students across town. ANVIL even played a unique role in tracking mobile assets during the World Athletics Championships Oregon22, hosted at UO’s Hayward Field.
