The Barberini app was developed by the Location Innovation Lab of the University of Oregon with photography by John Bigelow Taylor and Dianne Dubler and content by James Harper and Marlene Eidelheit.
The Location Innovation Lab leveraged their unique methods for serving high-resolution satellite imagery to transform high resolution photos of the Barberini Life of Christ tapestries into a custom iPad kiosk app to create an interactive resource for explore the panels. Users can hover over the images to learn more about the tapestries and their storied history.
The Barberini app was developed as part of a collaborative exhibition of the Cathedral of St. John the Divine and the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art at the University of Oregon and funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), the National Endowment of the Arts (NEA), and the Coby Foundation.
