Our Vision
A world in which resilience is woven into the fabric of strategic and operational decisions.
Our Mission
Cultivate collaborative, trust-based learning environments for applied and interdisciplinary research teams to focus on addressing some of the most significant risks facing their organizations, communities, and the environment.
History
As the concept of IROCE developed, leaders found common goals with the Institute for a Sustainable Environment (ISE). As the university’s oldest sustainability institute, the ISE was a thriving center for collaborative research, technical assistance, and policy education.
By merging into a single institute, IROCE and ISE bring together leadership and expertise at an organizational and human scale. IROCE advances the University of Oregon’s mission to help tackle challenges faced not only by our organization, but by our larger community.
