Annabelle Law is a research assistant at the Ecosystem Workforce Program (EWP) in the Institute for Resilient Organizations, Communities, and Environments at the University of Oregon. At EWP, Annabelle currently works on the Identifying Opportunities to Advance Forest and Fire Futures in the Western US project.
As an undergraduate in UC Berkeley's Geography program, she gained a passion for Indigenous sovereignty, environmental justice, and fire ecology. Annabelle's research work has focused on community based and participatory work with the North Fork Mono Tribe on the complexities and lived experiences of revitalizing cultural fire practices in California, contextualizing current conflicts by investigating how settler colonialism has contributed to California's modern wildfire crises. Annabelle is a member of FireGeneration Collaborative's research team and hopes to join more local burns with her FFT-2 certification.
